Wow, a lot has happened since I last updated our blog! I guess that's what happens when your life is turned upside down with a newborn! Here's an update on the past few months of our lives.
Mackinac Island and BYU Game
At the beginning of October (2016), we went on a fun trip to Mackinac Island and the BYU vs. Michigan State football game in Lansing. Before we moved to the upper peninsula of Michigan, we had several people tell us that we needed to make sure to go to Mackinac Island while we there. Although it is about 5 hours from where we live, it is on the way to Lansing. Adam is a huge BYU football fan and when he heard that they would be playing in Michigan (even though they would still be playing 8 hours from us...lol), he said we had to go to cheer them on. I agreed to the BYU game on condition that we visited Mackinac Island on the way there:). Our day started by taking a ferry to the island. We spent the day, biking, hiking, shopping, eating, and trying out some of the famous Mackinac Island fudge. We had such a fun day on this cute island!
Our favorite part of our visit to Mackinac Island was biking the 8 miles around it. Grace had fun getting pulled in this little trailer.
The BYU game was a blast! BYU beat Michigan State which made the long drive worth it. Some of our friends from the branch went to the BYU game as well.
Grace was a witch this year for Halloween. She also got to dress up in her witch costume for the branch trunk or treat activity. Adam decided to dress up as well. His costume was so scary that he scared all of the children at trunk or treat including his own daughter!
Trick or treating (With Grace's friend and neighbor Danica)
They really know how to celebrate Halloween up here! Grace also got to dress up as Elsa and a princess for Treat Street, Haunted Story time at the library, and the kids' haunted house activity at Michigan Tech.
Meeting Baby Pierce at the Hospital
I have uploaded Pierce's adoption story on the blog now so you can read how this sweet little miracle found his way to our family.:) Here are just a few more pictures from our precious days getting to know our little boy at the hospital.
Grace was so excited to be a big sister! This was her first time feeding him.
Holding Pierce on my birthday:)
It doesn't get much cuter than this!
Fun with Baby Pierce at Home
First night home, all bundled up and ready for bed
Reading to her baby brother
Big sister loves her baby brother!
Handsome boy on Thanksgiving Day
Pierce got some newborn photos taken toward the end of November. We love how they turned out!
1 month old: Such a good and calm baby, eating about 3 ounces every 3 hours, sleeping 4 hour blocks at night, and the sweetest little snuggler
Look at those big eyes! I may be biased but I think it doesn't get much cuter than this!
His first smiles. (Around 8 weeks)
2 months old: smiling, cooing, sleeping through the night (11:00 pm - 8:00 am), eating 4.5 ounces every 3 hours, and still the best little cuddle buddy ever
Decorating Christmas Trains on Christmas Eve
Look what Santa brought this year! Adam was holding the stocking to keep Pierce safe.
Christmas was on Sunday this year so we started off our Christmas by going to church. Grace got to wear her new beautiful dress that was given to her by her birth family.
Lately, Grace likes posing for pictures. (Such a silly girl)
Santa found Grace and Pierce this year! Pierce got clothes, some baby toys, and a play mat. Grace got a big princess castle doll house with some small princesses, this Dory table, a baby cradle, clothes, and a barbie pool.
Our little girl is 4 years old! I can't believe how big she is. She is truly the most delightful little girl. Most of the time she is just the happiest and silliest little soul. She brings so much happiness and joy to our home. We love her to the moon and back!
Adam took the day off so that we could have a fun filled day as a family on Grace's birthday. First, she opened up her birthday presents, then we played with her birthday presents, then we went sledding, next we went out to eat at Grace's favorite restaurant McDonalds, then we went to the movie "Sing!", and when we got home we ate her birthday Strawberry Shortcake cupcake cake. Next week, she is going to have a combined party with some of her friends that also have January birthdays.
Grace got a scooter, strawberry shortcake dolls, clothes, Learning Resources Gears, church shoes, and some kinetic sand for her birthday.
